Pressure equipment, such as pressure vessels and various process installations, are subject to local and regional statutory regulations. Examples are the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and the US ASME codes.
New constructed pressure equipment is to be assessed and approved by accredited bodies; in-service inspection requirements are often in place to ascertain integrity and safety of such potentially dangerous equipment.
SGS Industrial Services is accredited for Conformity Assessments of pressure equipment in many countries. For instance, SGS is Notified Body for the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) for all modules. SGS also has ASME aproved inspectors around the world.
