The inspection market is partially defined by statutory regulations and partially by voluntary inspections, often based on (inter-) national standards. Health and Safety of employees in the working place, installation integrity and limiting Environmental impact, are often the goals of these inspections.
Periodic inspections of pressurized equipment and systems, high and low voltage installations, buildings and lifts, lifting & hoisting equipment and other tools and machinery and coating systems belong to the inspection business of SGS Industrial Services. Inspections can also be a part of a package of services assuring the supply chain in a project, or as part of our reliability services offer.
SGS is Notified Body for most European New-Approach directives leading to CE-marking. Both for producers within the EU and EEA as well as for producers elsewhere exporting to Europe, SGS can provide Conformity Assessment.
SGS can also assist with Russian statutory requirements for
Rostekhnadzor (formerly known as GosGorTekhNadzor).
